Children and Adolescents Participating in Sinfonía por el Perú Will Showcase Their Great Talent at PERUMIN’s Opening Ceremony
  • This year, for the first time, around 24 children from Tacna and Moquegua will join the talented group of musicians and choristers.

For the second year in a row, the youth orchestra  Sinfonía por el Perú (Symphony for Peru) will offer a gala performance at the inauguration of PERUMIN 36, at the Backus amphitheater of the Cerro Juli Convention Center on September 25. Thousands of conventioneers will be attending the event.

Raúl Pimentel Meza, the artistic director of Sinfonía por el Perú, emphasized that the performance will feature 150 child and adolescent musicians and 10 teachers, who will interpret compositions such as 'Canción con Todos,' 'Danzón No. 2' by Arturo Márquez, 'Carnaval de Arequipa' by Benigno Ballón Farfán, and 'La Flor de la Canela' by Chabuca Granda, among others.

On this occasion, approximately 24 children from Ilo, Torata, Tacna, and Candarave will join the talented group of musicians and choristers for the first time. They will be under the orchestral direction of Maestro Raúl Pimentel and the choral direction of Maestra Luisa Rendón.

“This will be a great opportunity for the children to showcase their immense musical talent, and we are confident that their voices will evoke emotions among the spectators," emphasized Raúl Pimentel, who expressed gratitude to the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers and Southern Peru for allowing them to participate once again in PERUMIN.

Sinfonía por el Perú

Sinfonía por el Perú is a social organization led by Juan Diego Flórez, a prestigious Peruvian tenor who has been promoting collective music education processes for 12 years. Its work has had a positive impact on nearly 30,000 children and adolescents in ten regions of our country.

It is worth noting that the mining company Southern Peru and Sinfonía por el Perú have maintained a partnership for three years in communities where the mining company operates. This music education project includes 51 teachers, three nuclei, and three modules, benefiting a total of 1,300 individuals.
