Australia Aims to Strengthen Ties between METS and Peruvian Companies at PERUMIN 36
  • Australia will be represented by a delegation of over 30 companies and 80 delegates.

With a successful participation as PERUMIN’s first partner country in 2022, the Australian delegation managed to unlock the potential of its supplier companies or METS. This year, it is participating again in the Mining Convention with a group of over 30 companies and 80 delegates.

Thanks to the exposure that the Partner Country status provided to the Australian delegation at PERUMIN 35, many METS companies have been able to establish themselves in the Peruvian mining sector, even closing new deals or increasing their market share," said Maree Ringland, Australian Ambassador to Peru.

The sector of Australian companies supplying mining equipment, technology, and services (METS) is recognized as one of the most technologically advanced globally. Driven by an innovative and pioneering spirit, they maintain constant communication with the government and communities.

“We hope that at PERUMIN 36, Australian companies, investors, and suppliers can learn about the portfolio of projects and opportunities within the Peruvian mining sector, as well as the government's efforts to uphold competitiveness. The success of Australian METS companies in Peru will always depend on attracting investments and implementing projects in the pipeline," added the ambassador.

This is the 11th consecutive edition in which the Australian delegation has participated. This participation is organized by the Australian Trade and Investment Commission - Austrade. Among the novelties they bring, it is worth highlighting the business program prepared for both before and during PERUMIN 36 for the Australian METS companies that make up the official delegation.

These activities include presentations by mining companies about their operations and procurement processes; the "Australian Tech Pitching Sessions," which is a virtual business matching program; a networking cocktail party aimed at bringing together Australian and Peruvian companies, along with various other activities scheduled throughout the convention week.

Additionally, the Australia Pavilion at the EXTEMIN fair will once again feature the "Australian Innovation Hub," where innovative Australian solutions to address the mining industry's main challenges will be showcased. In addition, for the first time, they will provide a Guided Tour of the Australian Pavilion, enabling mining officials to directly experience the country's initiatives and meet its representatives, accompanied by Austrade and Linkminers executives, who will facilitate interaction with METS.
