The Board of Directors of the National Assembly of Regional Governors Will Hold a Session at PERUMIN
  • The president of the National Center for Strategic Planning (CEPLAN), Giofianni Peirano, has been invited to this meeting in Arequipa.

On September 28, the National Assembly of Regional Governors (ANGR), chaired by Rohel Sánchez, will hold a regular session of its board of directors, which consists of seven regional governors, at the PERUMIN mining convention in the city of Arequipa.

The board of directors of ANGR is composed of the regional governors Rohel Sánchez (Arequipa), Werner Salcedo (Cusco), Rosa Vazquez (Lima), Gilia Gutiérrez (Moquegua), Wilfredo Oscorima (Ayacucho), Leoncio Hayllani (Huancavelica), and Jorge Chávez (Loreto).

Patricia Donayre, the coordinator of ANGR, informed that the president of the National Center for Strategic Planning (CEPLAN), Giofianni Peirano, has also been invited to this meeting.

Schedule

The governors' schedule begins on Monday, September 25, with the opening of the EXTEMIN technological fair at Plaza del Sol. After lunch, they will participate in two new dialogue forums at PERUMIN, namely "Canada, Partner Country” and “Future Mining;” both hosted in the main David Ballón hall.

On Tuesday, September 26, they will be attending the Mining Summit during the morning and afternoon sessions. Additionally, they will also attend business luncheons alongside Fernanda Ávila, secretary of mining of Argentina; Aurora Williams, minister of mines of Chile; and Oscar Vera Gargurevich, minister of energy and mines of Peru.

On Wednesday, September 27, in the morning, the governors will visit the Cerro Verde mine, one of the largest producers of copper concentrates and cathodes in Peru. Following the visit, they will attend the BHP – Repsol business luncheon. The day will conclude with a territorial development workshop.

On Thursday, September 28, there will be a luncheon with the regional governors, where the topic of the "Contribution of Mining to Regional Development" will be discussed. Attendees include Rohel Sánchez, Werner Salcedo Álvarez, and Jorge Pérez Flores. This session will be moderated by Claudia Cooper, vice president of sustainability and external affairs at Compañía Minera Antamina. The governors' participation will conclude on Friday, September 29, with the awards ceremony and the closing of PERUMIN.
