Research Associate at the German Mineral Resources Agency (DERA), based in Berlin, part of the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR). Geologist with practical experience in exploration, global market analysis and consulting.
Between 2009 and 2012, Michael worked for Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, where he used CAC technology. He also worked for different junior mining companies (mainly with silver and gold, but also with antimony). Since October 2012, he has been working on risk analysis of various commodities, including antimony, platinum group metals, lithium and boron. In this position, he also advises German industry on commodity-related issues. Since 2015, he has been the lithium expert appointed by DERA/BGR. Since 2021, he is also head of the German DIN mirror committee for ISO/TC 333 "Lithium".
