Michael Weltzin

Michael Weltzin has been working at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE)
since June 2022 in the area of raw materials policy and on the implementation of the federal
government's national raw materials strategy. This supports the economy in diversifying its supply of
raw materials in different areas. In addition to metallic raw materials and industrial minerals, his area
of work also includes the field of circular economy. Michael Weltzin is a trained natural scientist and
received his doctorate in the field of environmental technology at RWTH Aachen. For several years,
Michael Weltzin holds a teaching position at the Berlin University of Technology (BHT) in material
cycles and circular economy.
