Diego Macera
Director of the Peruvian Institute of Economy
Diego Macera Poli is director of the Peruvian Institute of Economics (IPE) and a director of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru.
He has served as an advisor on the Fiscal Council and as a columnist for El Comercio newspaper. He was general manager of IPE from 2015 to 2023. In addition, he has served as vice president of the civil association Transparencia, professor in the Department of Economics at Universidad del Pacífico, and a commissioner on the Commission for Sustainable Mining Development under the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. Mr. Macera has also worked at El Comercio as Opinion Section editor-in-chief and at The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU). He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Universidad del Pacífico and a master’s degree in public policy from the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago.
