Darío Zegarra - MINING SUMMIT

Darío Zegarra serves as the Country Manager for Newmont Peru.

He holds several prominent leadership positions, including:
• Director, National Society of Mining, Petroleum, and Energy (SNMPE), and former Chair of its
Social Affairs Committee.
• President, Asociación Los Andes de Cajamarca - Newmont ALAC.
• President, Institute of Mining Engineers of Peru (IIMP).
• President, Alliance of Companies Promoting "Works for Taxes" (ALOXI).
• Chair, Business Advisory Committee for Zero Hunger, United Nations World Food Programme.
• Board Member, Enseña Peru.
• Member, Entrepreneurs for Integrity.
• Board Member, Peru Sostenible.
• Board Member, American Chamber of Commerce of Peru (AmCham Peru).

Mr. Zegarra is a Mining Engineer, graduated from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. He also holds master’s degrees in environmental science and mining engineering from the University of Idaho (USA), and an MBA from the Senior Management Program (PAD) at Universidad de Piura. With 25 years of professional experience, he has held key leadership roles at Newmont, Antamina,
Cementos Lima, and Glencore. His academic achievements further include professional development studies at the University of
Cambridge, Harvard University, and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso.
