Doris Hiam-Gálvez - MINING SUMMIT

Dr. Doris Hiam-Galvez, is the Chair of the program of the World Mining Congress 2026. With a PhD in Metallurgy and over 30 years of global senior leadership, she has led breakthrough innovation across the resource sector by minimizing environmental impacts, accelerating project timelines, and fostering trust among stakeholders.

 As Director at Hatch, Doris spearheaded a 15-year global expansion, transforming key markets across Europe, South America, Australia, and Canada with previously absent innovative solutions. Earlier, as CTO of Novelis, she advanced innovation at the company.  

 A Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, CIM Distinguished Lecturer and Founder/Author of the book “Designing Sustainable Prosperity”, Doris developed a method that turns resource-based economies into catalysts for diversified, lasting prosperity. It unites government, industry, academia and communities around a shared vision of regional prosperity. She is also a passionate advocate for developing the next generation of leaders.
